Event Footprint

Start Line: Golden Gate Park at the Bison Paddock. Runners will line up in their assigned corrals along John F Kennedy Drive between 36th Ave and Chain of Lakes Dr. This area will also have our UPS Gear Check Trucks where runners drop their bags, an information tent, refreshments tent and medical aid station. Course: Turn by turn document attached. Runners will exit Golden Gate Park and run along 35th and 3nd Ave to El Camino Del Mar. They will turn right and follow El Camino Del Mar which turns into Lincoln Blvd to the GGB. Runners will enter the GGB and run out to Vista Point before turning around and coming back. Once they exit the bridge, they will take Lincoln Blvd down to Mason Street and run through Crissy Field towards Fort Mason. Runners will then take Bay Street to Polk Street where they will run south towards Civic Center Plaza. There will be a turn on Ellis St so runners finish on Larkin St at McAllister. Finish: Civic Center Plaza - see attached diagram. Finish venue is between McAllister St. and Grove St. and between Polk St. and Larkin St. Finish venue is concentrated around the concert stage in front of city hall. There will be a VIP tent, family meeting zone, two large charity tents (St. Jude and synchrony) and a beer garden. Medical coverage will be provided by a critical care tent (Finish Tent 1) and Main Medical tent.

Event Footprint Responsibility

The medical group supervisor or the event coordinator must contact the dispatch supervisor at DEC (phone: 415-575-0737) to take responsibility for the event footprint at the beginning of each operational period and release responsibility for the footprint at the end of each operational period.

Staff Responsibility

All contracted medical interventionists will be active, current, and in good-standing at the time of the operational period. The event producer will ensure that a complete staff list is provided no less than one week prior to the first operational period.

This staff list will include the following information for each contracted medical interventionist:

  • Full legal name
  • Certification/License Number
  • Level of certification/licensure
  • Certification/license expiration

MCI Capabilities

A written MCI plan and an approved MCI Kit will be present at the event. All contracted responders will be briefed and trained on their contents and use. (see the San Francisco MCI plan here.)
